Confident body language do's and don'ts

  1. Aim to avoid having your arms crossed in front of you, or behind you, or in your pockets.

  2. If it feels comfortable for you, aim to have an open and welcoming posture. Arms are open and shoulders relaxed. Standing facing your audience and making eye contact.

Here's a technique you can follow to help you use your body language for greater impact when speaking

If you'd like to keep the momentum going, the next session is on MONDAY 3rd August.

Upcoming sessions

Public Speaking Practice 6th July 2026

Here’s the framework we used - Rule of Threes.

  1. Structure Your Ideas: Organise your talks and presentations into three main pillars, such as Problem, Solution, and Call to Action.

  2. Boost Retention: People rarely remember long lists. Limiting your core message to three takeaways or examples ensures your audience is able to remember your message.

  3. Don’t be constrained by the framework: If you can’t think of a third point or need to make a fourth or fifth one, that’s fine. As with all public speaking techniques, use them if they work for you.

Here's a technique you can follow to support your preparation to communicate with confidence
